Anchor Cross Ranch is a private horse training and specialized boarding facility located in Camp Verde, Arizona.
Bob Grant specializes in Ranch Performance Horses, including Working Cow Horses, Cutting Horses and the ever popular Ranch Riding and Ranch Trail. These horses are crossing over successfully into NRCHA and AQHA Reined Cow Horse competitions, Reined Cow Horse Herd Work and local Ranch Cutting classes. He believes that putting a strong basic foundation on a young horse and keeping it fun and rewarding is the best approach to finding the strengths and abilities of each individual horse. Horses in training are given substantial time turned out in improved irrigated pastures with compatible buddies near by, we firmly believe this practice helps to keep a sane mind and strong body.
We are centrally located in the beautiful Verde Valley (the best kept secret in Arizona) situated on 52 acres, bordered on one side by the Verde River, with incredible mountain views all around. At the elevation of 3,100 feet, we have a moderate climate year round, substantially cooler than Phoenix but still excellent winter weather. Our central location, half way between Phoenix and Flagstaff, is the perfect location for seasonal equine visitors to escape the heat in the summer and the cold northern Arizona winters.
